A snap election will be held in Italy on 25 September 2022.
Following the resignation of Prime Minister Mario Draghi, President Sergio Mattarella dissolved the Italian Parliament on 21 July, eight months before its natural expiration, and called for new elections.
Draghi continues to head the government as caretaker prime minister.
