Snap elections held after no coalition was reached following the April 2021 elections. President Radev later declared on 11th September 2021 that, for the first time in history, there would be ‘two in one’ elections on 14th November 2021 for the first time in Bulgarian history, where voters will be able to vote on the president and the parliament. OSCE reported campaign was dominated by mutual accusations of corruption between the former ruling party and provisional government. Elections resulted in narrow victory for ITN ‘There is Such A People’ party – over the ruling GERB party. However, ITN won only 65 out of 240 seats in the National Assembly. ITN tried to form a minority government and failed. Parliament announced on 2nd September 2021 that Bulgaria would hold the first round of the presidential election on 14th November 2021, with a snap parliamentary election the same month.
